DAVID AGUIRRE – ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION EXPERT

Mr. Aguirre is a retired City of El Paso police officer.  During his 24 years and 10 months with the police department, he was an academy staff instructor for three years and a collision investigator for 21 years.  12 of those years, he was a motorcycle officer.  During his tenure, he attended courses related to collision investigation at both the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety as well as the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).

From 1983 to 1999, Mr. Aguirre taught all traffic-related courses for the El Paso Police Academy.  From 1995 to 1999, he was an instructor for the Texas Peace Officer program offered at the El Paso Community College.  From 1990-1993 and 1996-1999, he was assigned to the Special Traffic Investigations unit, serving as one of the department’s reconstructionists, investigating fatal and major injury collisions and fleet collisions for the department.  His expert testimony experience is in the District courts of El Paso County as well as the 20th District Court in Milam, County.

During his 11 years with TEEX, Mr. Aguirre was a Training Coordinator for the Public Safety and Security Training Division.  In that position, he coordinated and taught all of the collision investigation courses offered by TEEX and facilitated the delivery of the TCOLE Basic Instructor Development and RADAR Instructor courses.  He also assisted in the development and design of the curricula for all three of those topics.

Mr. Aguirrestarted Delta Collision Consulting and Training March 2011when his status with TEEX changed from full-time employee to adjunct instructor.  He rewrote the collision curricula for Delta CCT, making them easier to understand and learn.

As of 2014, Delta CCT became a training provider for ARAS/FARO 360, and is able to offer training for agencies that have purchased the ARAS/FARO 360HD animation program as well as training in the use of the Nikon DTM 322 and NPL 322 total stations.

Mr. Aguirre holds numerous certifications, including: Master Peace Officer and Advanced Instructor from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.  He is also certified as a Law Enforcement Instructor in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

He has been a member of the Texas Association of Accident Reconstruction Specialists (TARRS) since 1995 and the Professional Society of Forensic Mapping (PSFM) since 2015.
